Penny McDonnell

I am an artist and architectural technician based in Norwich, UK.

I have worked for decades in the field of architecture, but decided to follow my heart and am currently studying for my final year of a fine art degree at Norwich University of the Arts.

I am interested in the idea of depth, both apparent as in the layering of films of paint, but also the idea of going beyond the superficial to explore layers of psychology and spirituality.

I have been very influenced by buddhist ideas, but also the paintings, prints and writings of Ian McKeever and the ceramics of Clare Crouchman.

My approach to art is always affected by my technical / mathematical background

Born in 1962 I have spent most of my life in Cambridge.
